The greatest thing about having kids is all the funny things you hear them say. I can almost claim that my sense of humour has been revived and revitalised.
We woke up this morning and were having our morning chat. I peeked behind the headboard of the bed and Lo!! there lay a lot of "Missing Missing Missing" items. The most important one was a Baby Aquaphor tube, that I had been searching for, high and low, but in vain! The only problem about its precarious position was that my short and pudgy arms would not fit in the tiny space between the bed and the wall. All this exercise got Ishaan all excited. He wanted to help. He wanted to reach down and pick it up , but mostly I think he was eyeing his little yellow car and Thomas the tank engine.
I explained to him that I wouldn't be able to reach it .. and so he couldn't either. He understood. I asked him, "What should we do now?"...He put on his thinking hat...!!!
He said ..." I know ... Uncle will help you" .... (Notice he said uncle will help me .. and not his dad!! ... I am sure he already has realised it's futile to ask dad to do anything around the house .. LOL!! Just kidding!! )
I asked: " Which uncle ..?"
He appeared baffled... he realised there are no uncles in the house ... !!!!
So he started thinking again ... this time he almost jumped with excitement with his brilliant idea.. Almost yelling Eureka!!
He said: "Mama .. I got it ... We'll puuuuusssssssssshhhh the bed" ...(notice this kid has some real good ideas)
I asked: "How baby ?... its heavy.."
He said : "Wait" .. and he defiantly tried to pull /push/kick it out ... then he agreed .."Its stuck mama"
Then he started thinking again ... All his thinking is very visual and dramatic and animated. He exclaimed again ..: "I know... I'll go under the bed"
I said: "Maybe not Ishaan.. the bed is too low.."
He was chicken enough to agree with me this time, very quickly.
Then he was out of ideas ... !!! But he was still trying.. He was looking around the room to find something to fish it out...
I thought I will chip in, I asked him .. "Will a stick help , sweety?"
He said : "Ahhhh yeahhh!!!"
Finally I found a long rod and he helped me fish it out.
He was so happy to have recovered his blue Thomas... he was squealing at the end of it .. "Thankyou mamaaa ...."
And what send me into the final bout of tickled laughter was ...
"Mama .. You DA BEST~~~!!!!"
